Keep 'em coming!!!

What an amazing collection.

SO MANY blog sites all trying to be 'hip' not bothered if the music has a 3 week shelf life and only POPular due to 'The industry'

BUT then theres MP3@3pm !!
1 of the few blog sites (chocoreve being another doing it for the music, & then zinhof (unkowingly i think but bringing (often utter rubbish but some great gems) (i must add the 2 mentioned sites cater for very different music - 3pm has more of... ??? an accessable choice, zinhof is very hit & miss (a culture thing, i think its hungarian? or??), Chocoreve is 101% unusual or .. oh sod the thesaurus its trippy stuff, no thats unfair a pigeon hole, wheres the thesaurus.. cant think of a word so 'eclectic 60's material from Psychedlic to 'mod' (garage beat' will explain - unfortunately due to Rapid Slow eh share too much music not enough time to download it all with the hour plus wait and i cant afford to join EVERY bloody website.. and sorry to say this will (at the moment) be the case of the pay pal option here - i'd like to, i cant afford to.

But back to the music, from here:-
Bowie (I've yet to get over his chart stuff to realy hear his music), Bob Marley (i have spoken re Bob under the Legend downld comment) to Stephen Malkamus (as Pavements lead singer, again i know well - they must have released something i haven't bought or downloaded from some odd collection). & an Ian Brown 'track' i assume there is the album that this 'missing/hidden' track came from - this I would VERY much like to hear - must get to finding old monkey faces album asap...) & more (i'll be all day listing the 'wealth' of quality - you have eyes & a mouse...)

So from above mentioned western music to THIS, we have been given the CHOICE (too hint to some whinger earlier) the chance to listen to Islamic music and what an eye opener ! We've all seen a documentary with a snippet of 'snake charming style music' but to get a whole North African collection to realy emmerse into - fantastic.

I must stop, its quite enough eh?

Its a great blog & a great collection.
Thank you.

from me, making probably my last post of length... anymore will be "Thanks, this is great" but if its not my kind of thing i wont whinge, i'll wait with anticipation.... and go visit a link or listen to past offerings ;))

Thanks for renewing this posting of The Music of Islam. I had it where you left off a month or two back - thru Volume 6. Strange to say, I find a lot of this music oddly compelling - it's very soothing to listen to. I have a huge problem with militant Islamics (who doesn't these days) - but every one of them I've met state-side I've liked. Of course, mainstream Islamics don't bomb mosques, or blow themselves up in crowds of people, so they don't make the news, do they? Anyway, just for this series alone I'd contribute some moola via a paypal button. You've got stuff every now and then like this that broadens my musical horizons, and that's something damn few music blogs offer.

Some kind words here. Thanks to all of you.
Hey Richard, I couldn't agree more with you on the militants subject. People need to read more and learn more about the peoples of the world instead of, which is what it seems to be right now, assuming that islamic means terrorist and anything arabic is something to be feared/shunned or just avoided! It's madness.
I think political correctness is to be the downfall of society! I think of the recent cartoon crisis Vs the jailing of David Irving in austira. botrh are cases of political correctness and both are filled with a lot of emotion and mixed feelings and views, both sides of which have their merits for sure but...fucking hell people!
why don't they all just sit down and relax.
hehe

Erm. I am not from Portugal...or Brazil. I am also an uneducated fool. This brings me to my point:
PLEASE SPEAK ENGLISH
or risk whatever you say being ignored as it is incomprehensible!
No offence :)
