B-Tribe feat. Deborah Blando - Suave Suave [1995]

B-Tribe feat. Deborah Blando - Suave Suave [1995]

Well hello again.
And you thought I had died or something.
Sorry, still here.
After the Motorhead session, I figure you must now be ready for this one which I find so mellow and tranquil, it can send me to sleep. Not a bad thing right now.
With the onset of sunny days and the smell of freshly mown grass and all the things that make you feel like summer, this album fits in very well.
I can only apologise again for my lack of appearance here but illness..etc etc. It's getting bloody hard to keep things going in reality, never mind this virtual responsibility! I do like it here though and won't stop so all I ask is that you drop by each day just to check and download the recommended music, if I managed to post any. I have some great stuff planned!

Here is a selection of quotes I found on amazon and I just couldn't agree more:
'I stumbled across this one in a pawn shop and it has moved up the ranks to be one of my favorite albums. I'm not quite sure how to describe it (often the sign of a great album). Take a little Spanish guitar, some cool ambient grooves, some sparse vocals and other sounds floating about and you've got a great album. I hate to compare it to other artists because this only reveals the uniqueness of this particular album.

The highlight of the album is the eight minute Hablando with a great drum track and ambient sound scape with some very lush and soothing vocal work.

If you're looking for a break from the overtaxed techno and/or pop scene, this one will engage you and set you free.
'

Or this one:
'Suave Suave, the album which introduced me to the magic B-Tribe - The Brave world, is truly masterpiece, which gives you so much positive emotions , ambitions, that you can't remain uninterested. One can forget about any sadness in the world, while listening to Suave Suave. On the other hand the music doesn't bring you surface joy. No. Everything is much more internal, sensual, spiritual, suave... suave....

A very philosophic music. It brings fire and at the same time ambiance - an equilibrium.
'

OK his grammar sucks but he puts it rather well I think!

Enjoy!

If any of you play guitar, it might have come to your attention that if you go looking for any tabs or chords recently, you'll find your usual sites are not as they were...they are now the subject of the great authorities on copyright etc. I am fucking annoyed! More later.

Motorhead - Ace of Spades 1980

Sorry I am so slow..etc etc. yes illness...
I wanted to share this fine album with you as some sort of compliment to the last one I posted. Now that you are suitably relaxed and mellow, put this one on and bnag your head against the nearest wall.
I actually got this for my 6 yr old son as I wanted him to learn the title track..hehe. He seems to like thrash-y loud music (where he gets that from I have no idea!) so I thought it best he learns a good one!
Didn't take long for him to sing the chorus!

Enjoy.

I just want to point out, if you think I've been doing nothing whilst feeling so ill lately then you might like to know that I have replaced a load of the Dylan Radio show links with high quality ones. Also doing a complete replacement of the Hendrix discs one by one too. So not a completely lazy twat :)

Pink Floyd...Wish you were Here

Sorry this took me so long but life is as it is...
Before any of you music snobs give me some crap about posting this old and unoriginal album...piss off. Not everyone has spent years in darkness and clouds of swirling weed smoke until they know every note from every progressive album from 1967 onwards. (not everyone is like me then).
Sometimes it is nice to start people off on the journey to some great music. I still remember the night when I first heard Dark Side of the Moon. I remember where I was, what I was doing etc etc and most of all just how amazed I was that there were such things as an album like that and just how powerful the medium of music was. A moment of reckoning for me probably. Maybe I just hadn't gotten used to being a pot head by then.
I can't remember to be honest.
What was I talking about?
Oh yeah...
Hope you enjoy the music folks. I highly recommend this album and I doubt if any of you have never heard it but, just for those few that haven't ventured into the Pink Floyd genius yet, please download this one and have a listen to it as it really is a work of art from beginning to end.
I love it.

For the uninitiated among you, of which I really hope there are some reading, here is a clip of a great track that will forever stand the test of time. Unlike your latest bloody Kaiser chiefs or Keane album!
This one is a low quality track just so it loads faster in your browser, the download is high quality ;)

This disco is a bit shit...not really. Actually it's damn good.

Hello once again.
No updates for long time I see.
One Word: Illness.
OK that's that dealt with, let's Moooove ON!

I have been furtively (!!) uploading in preparation for todays grand update. Well OK, it isn't that 'grand' but let's face it: and more than two albums a week around here is pretty grand isn't it?
(Oh by the way, feel free to help pout by uploading your favourite albums to rapidshare or somewhere and sending the links to me!)
Let me kick off this belated weekend post with a band who are, surprise surprise, NEW to me, maybe even new to you? either way I find them hard to describe with much of a degree of accuracy for some reason...When I suggested they reminded me of 'a typical yet not too typical 80's sounding band'(and I don't mean like all the other shit you hear nowadays a-la kaiser chiefs etc etc), anyway yes, where was I.
Oh yes, when I suggested to my dear woman that they sounded like something that was verging on 'Depeche Mode-meets erm,-something-else-that-isn't-quite-as-crap' She told me to shut up talking shit.
You probably will too.
Obviously none of you were privy to the EXCLUSIVE Depeche Mode material that I had back in the day.
Either that or I'm just talking crap.
As always...YOU DECIDE!
Let your ears do the work for you...ignore me and have a good ol' listen to
Shitdisco and their recent album, ..Kingdom of Fear.
Shitface.

Before I go..
Wikipedia Says this.
But we all know you can't trust anything you read on there, It is either; written by some teenager angst-ridden masturbator who vandalises pages just to 'annoy the world', or it's been studiously created by those pedants known in the Latin as Nerdicus Extremis. These cnuts know so much it's sick.
Too much knowledge is a dangerous thing. Look at Einstein.
Look at OJ Simpson. (oh no he got away with it didn't he?)
Well just look at hat Russian guy who drank Polonium for afternoon tea.
His name, Alexander Litvinenko in case you cared.

Enjoy it won't you. I kind of forgot to say...I really like the album and it's bloody brilliant an all that.

Right. I have got loads of stuff here to post(all the stuff I uploaded!) and I really have no bloody energy to sit here right now. I'm fucking sorry people but, going for a rest. I will TRY my best to post more tonight even though it's just turned 1am here...

Tinariwen - [2004] Amassakoul and [2007] Aman Iman-Water Is Life

Hello friends.
It is high time I got around to posting some fine music from around the globe. For too long now there has been a rather too strict diet of rock and chart music here. I was looking through the archived posts and there used to be a lot more Arabic or Indian or Spanish and other albums which, mostly, went down really well. I don't know about you but I love being introduced to music from far off lands. I love hearing the crude acoustic instruments, the raw vocals and most of all I love being transported away to some distant culture just by listening to the music from the people who live there.
In that tradition I now bring you my latest find (I say 'find' as I kind of got lazy on this one - found it on avax and just had to share it with you so I re uploaded it!).

I bring you....
Tinariwen.

Never heard of them? Me neither.
This might help:
Tinariwen is a Touareg group from the southern Sahara whose music is close to the blues of Ali Farka Toure.
The band's name means ''empty places'' which certainly reflects their desert homeland.
Forced from their nomadic life in the Sahara, they were fighters in the Touareg insurgency against the Malian government.
So, the band formed in 1982 in Colonel Gadhafi's rebel camps.
The Libyan leader recruited this nation-less and disenfranchised people with promises to help them in their cause. Gadhafi implied that he would train the Kel Tamashek and provide weapons to fight for their independence from the Malian government, but eventually the stateless rebels slowly realized that Gadhafi's only intention was to use these fierce fighters in his own wars.
Radicalized by war and drought, Tinariwen invented a new style of music known as Tishoumaren, or music of the ishumar. Ishumar, which means unemployed, refers to a generation of young, enraged Tamashek exiles: people who left their stomping grounds for work after much repression and drought in Mali. Tinariwen wanted to carry on traditional music, but in exile they could rarely find the 30 or more musicians necessary to play the style. They have combined traditional musical forms with a modern rebellious and radical rock sensibility -- traditional instruments such as the teherdent lute and shepherd flute were discarded in favor of the electric guitar, electric bass and drums.
Their Music is loosely based on traditional Touareg music and the harsh melodies of the one-stringed Touareg violin, but also incorporates influences such as Bob Marley together with the other disparate influences, both western and middle eastern, which managed to penetrate that far into the desert.
With no postal or phone system to carry messages of resistance, Tinriwen's music became the underground telephone for the rebellion. Their sung poetry calls for the political awakening of consciousness and approaches the problems of the exile, of the repression in Mali, of the policy of their people's expulsion to Algeria and of the claims for sovereignty and self-determination.
Their cassettes were banned in Mali and Algeria and anyone carrying a recording risked bodily harm by the authorities.

Quite a history eh? Makes the listening experience all that more intriguing.
Close your eyes and float out to the desert.

Here are some links of inrerest too...I liked them, thought you might.

I just found an absolutely brilliant live set of this band playing in 2004, something called WOMAD festival. (World of Music, Arts and Dance)

Highly recommended!

When you get to that page you'll find a host of other artists that played at the same festival.
Wow. What a nice find!

Oh and here is the Womad site too in case you want to check through what other artists they have there.

Blood on the Tracks - Bob Dylan [two versions-original and bootleg New York Sessions version!]

(Click that image to see it larger and read the tracks etc on there)
I hope you liked the Björk album.
It ain't that bad is it?

I saw this great version of Dylan's 'Blood on the Tracks' somewhere the other day and had to get it. I was so glad I did. It is in my opinion, a whole lot better than the original released studio version! well, this isn't a released disc or anything as I am presuming it's a bootleg of sessions put together...hmmm google!
Here we go:
A quote from Here
"This incredible CD is the original New York session recordings taken directly from a mint condition test pressing of the intended release. While most tracks are the actual released versions, four on this CD were thrown away in favor of the Minneapolis versions. While the official BOTT is an impossibly ludicrous standard of comparison for non-released material.... this lone CD is a contender."
you see? I am not alone in thinking this is a f*cking blinder of a disc for any Dylan fans collection!
Go read more damn you:
wikipedia (bit of a let down on this one!

Seems there are a few different NY sessions from the BOTT time.
So to help you discover which one this is(!) I have listed the tracks from the back cover...which is included in the download.

01. Tangled Up In Blue (6:55)
02. Simple Twist Of Fate (4:26)
03. You're A Big Girl Now (4:26)
04. Idiot Wind (8:58)
05. You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go (3:06)
06. Meet Me In The Morning (4:29)
07. Lily, Rosemary And The Jack Of Hearts (9:55)
08. In You See Her Say Hello (3:28)
09. Shelter From The Storm (5:05)
10. Buckets Of Rain (3:24)

Tracks 1, 3, 4, 6 & 7 recorded at Columbia A&R studios, NY City, Sept 12th 1974
Tracks 2, 5, 9 & 10 recorded at Columbia A&R studios, NY City, Sept 16th 1974
Track 8 recorded at Columbia A&R studios, NY City, Sept 23rd 1974

(another possible problem - The cover says 'track 6 recorded at..) and yet it has already listed track 6 as being at the same date as the first tracks!? So I give it the benefit of the doubt that they meant to say track 8 as it is the only one missing from the list!)
Wait! Stop Press! I found it. Check Here. this is the same one!
Anyway...these are some of my all time favourite Dylan songs and I hope they bring you some enjoyment.
Wow...whilst looking for more websites on this, I discovered a few tracks of different versions! They are from other bootlegs which I think I can get pretty quickly if anyone wants them (I know I do!) but go to this page and click the links down by the left of the page to listen to the tracks being streamed. They give you two versions of each track, the final released BOTT version and a bootleg to compare how it differs.
Great stuff!
There are 5 tracks in all. Oh and two outtakes too. Is that seven then? :)
I am downloading the streams and will re-up them so that you can have them for keeps instead of only playing them in a web browser which is a load of balls!
Remember the quality of a streamed file is usually low so when I re upload them don't be complaining about them being wma files or whatever they be!
There is also two tracks there that were not included in the final release so I haven't ever heard them...maybe you too. Names are Call Letters Blues & Up To Me (which I have to say is absolute classic pre-ego Dylan as far as I'm concerned!)

Enjoy this one.

OK I am out of here.
