Ricky Gervais Podcasts Series Three 3 Episode 2

Yup. I caved in and did it again.
This time it made me laugh a lot for a little while. I think something to do with the fact that Karl talks about just having been through a kidney stone experience that I could relate to!
Karl is classic stuff.
It is just the presence of Mr Gervais that leaves a bad taste in the mouth when listening to this. he has the gall to close the show with, 'You've been listening to the Ricky Gervais Show with me Ricky Gervais..'
He does NOTHING on it anymore!! the original XFM Radio shows used to be brilliant. Pure class. Same three presenters, same type of humour BUT...they ALL contributed and they all had something to say. Stephen Merchant can be so hilarious too. After a while on their radio shows there, you could see they were getting a bit tired and low on ideas. Then they just made the spot where they let Karl talk crap for a while run on a lot longer, which was funny. I'm not sure when the format turned into 'two guys interview another guy and the other guy is a dumb twat who makes the two guys constantly laugh at his ineptitude.'
That's all it is now. funny but even half an hour of that is a bit too long.
Karl talked for the WHOLE SHOW this time. that's what made me realise just how little the others put into it these days.
Anyway, I don't suppose you give a shit!

Enjoy the show then eh!?

Bob Dylan Theme Time Radio Hour episode Eighteen 18 'Radio'

Again, it is that time again.
Not as easy to grab the show early anymore...it seems my 'free' subscription to XMradio is erm...no longer! However, I will and do still grab the torrented releases as they arrive and then convert to MP3 and upload them. I also join the tracks together because it comes split into each track and jingle, etc. I really can't stand it like that. Much prefer one long file from beginning to end. It seems a lot do, judging by the emails I've had.
So!
go get your fix. this weeks theme is 'Radio'.

Rammstein - Live Aus Berlin

Hey guys! I'm back, and my internet connection has been sucking lately, construction in front of my house, so I'm trying something new. Let me know if this works, if so, great! If not, not so great. (HitMeWithIt: I'll be posting pasworded Rars next time, but I can't upload right now, my connection's so slow, it took me forever even to do this, I just wanted to post and let you guys know I was still around). It's Rammstein, the hardesy of the hard in german industrial metal. Although, I'm sure they're singing about poofy things If I knew German. I love this album, It's Live Aus Berlin! Enjoy. And, guys, donate some money to this site, I know you all want the Ricky Gervais Show Season Three, and I'd love to bring it to you, but I'm afraid I'm potless, as is HitMeWithIt. It's only $7, if you all donate 50 cents, pesos, pence, eurocents, whatever, we'll be able to afford it in no time!

LINKS:

These open in a new window and on the page that you will see, there is a BLUE link in the bottom centre of the page, with a small floppy disc icon there. Click that to download the track. You are limited to one track at a time but you CAN use a download manager like flashget. Also, you can right click the disc icon lik and select 'save As..' to save the mp3 to your H Drive.

Hope that will work ok. Well, I KNOW it works ok I just wonder if you have the patience as sometimes the speeds can get really slow. The easy way to solve that is to use a download manager and let it download them for you one at a time(you can go to each page and get the link for each track, just right-click-copy the link and then paste into downloading program) then sit back and forget about it for an hour or two.
Then later you will have the album!

Incredible India - Various Artists [2006]

Hello again.
I can't say as much as I'd like to on this due to my health so let me just say it is a collection of beautiful indian rooted music.
I tried to find some stuff online about it for you but there isn't much. However there is a great site here that lists the tracks of the album(not in the right order) and then actually lets you listen to them, FULLY, in windows mediaplayer or realplayer in the webpage! Go for it!
I love indian music and this is a nice album as it has some of the most well renowned modern musicians. It isn't exactly olde world traditional indian, more like upbeat and chill out.
Just try it.
Peace.

Science and Dr Karl

Hello everyone. Yes it is getting a bit tedious but ill health has really got in the way of things around here. Apologies once again.
When I am not listening to music(or furtively uploading/downloading or repairing software/hardware on this machine) I have a few radio shows and podcasts that are pretty interesting so, whilst I upload the next selection for you I thought I might point you in the direction of said shows so that you might enjoy them too. What have you got to lose? Just try them out!
First up is a well known guy called Dr Karl. Google the name and you will find out more than enough about this character! In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he had a wikipedia page! (I just found the answer to that one as you can see).
He is a scientist,(FROM WIKIPEDIA: His academic history includes work in several branches of science. He holds degrees in Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, and Medicine and Surgery, but has also studied some Astrophysics, Computer Science and Philosophy. In the past he has worked as a physicist, labourer, roadie for bands, car mechanic, filmmaker, hospital scientific officer, biomedical engineer, TV weatherman, taxi driver, and medical doctor..) and, for a while now has done an hour long phone in show on an australian radio station -Triple J. He has a really likeable manner and is a great guy..honest!Get the weekly podcast and you will most definitely learn something, even if it is just why the grass is green and the sky is blue. (a recent question..hmm).
Dr Karl Podcast on Triple j MP3 download for this week
Dr Karl podcast on Triple j MP3 downloads page
Dr Karl Podcast on Triple j subscription feed (for your newsreader/podcast software).

Now, that show sems to be a bit aimed at, well, lets say young people(sounds like an alien species to me..damn!) so I prefer to listen to the lesser known show he does on BBC Radio Five once a week on a show aptly named 'Up All night' which goes out at 2 or 3am until morning every Thursday UK Greenwich meantime.
The good thing about the BBC is that you can call up one of their radio shows at anytime of the week and listen to it at your lesiure. This time you have Dr Karl in a phone in science questions situation again but, for 2 hours and with a more mature(heh!!) audience and class of caller!
Try both of these to get it playing
Option one (right click and 'copy shortcut' to paste it into a player)
Option Two (this downloads the RAM file which then works like the above. try if the above fails)
Put this into realplayer or jetaudio or ANY player that supports the RM or RAM type of files. You can use most players if you install REAL ALTERNATIVE -click for details. Real Alternative comes with a great freeware adware and spyware free player so i recommend it!
When you get it playing, fast forward it by exactly 2 hours. The show starts there.
I love this show and hope you will too!

Dr KArl for president!

More podcasts later...and music.
Ciao.

The Jesus and Mary Chain – 21 Singles - 2002

Hiya, 'this here,

Having just come back from Scotland, had a gr8 time thanguverymuch,
i tot i'd slap up one of our best bands ever, the JAMC...
here's some snippets from amazon:

“It's a rare trick to uphold the sacred tenets of rock & roll
while simultaneously reinventing them”

“The Reid brothers took the idea of sullen, black-leather-clad rebellion
to a darker and more inhospitable place than anyone had before. ”

“Even now, the early Mary Chain singles sound astounding ”

yup, they're that good...
i've had the pleasure of seeing them live 3 times and they were sullen cnuts
BUT they were brilliant too...

And just who the fuck do Black Rebel Motorcycle Club think they are anyway???

So, enjoy! Ya basturds yeez,

Bob Dylan Theme Time Radio Hour episode Seventeen 17 'Friends And Neighbours'

Here you go Dylan lovers and freaks alike. I hope you appreciate this one cos' it wasn't so easy. In the end I got the torrent file that is kindly supplied at dylantree as FLAC format files by erm..someone.
I converted to the usual quality of MP3 that I do here and it sounds fine.
Apparently there is a track missing, or so the FLAC provider stated but it is not an error, it was missing from the show when the guy recorded it direct from the satellite output so make your own conclusions.
Theme is Friends and Neighbours and the tunes are pretty good.
Uploading mirrors all day so if you can't get the first one, try later.

Ricky Gervais Podcasts Series Three 3 Episode 1

Hello all.
I said I wouldn't, but I did.
enjoy.
Personally I don't rate Ricky anymore these days. As for Karl, for those who think it is all scripted and claim he is a fake or whatever, take it from me, someone who listened from day one of the old shows: He is no fake idiot. he really is that dumb. however it is getting tiresome. Flogging a dead horse.
Doesn't stop me trying to get hits on my site by providing links for those that like to hear it.
(Ok I still enjoyed having a listen to it, I admit it!)

Free Software! Programs Galore!

I joined a site exchange thing to hopefully help the status of this crappy blog of ours.
What this means is that YOU can be made aware of a great site that alledly has a plethora of links to download FREE SOFTWARE. I can verify that it is completely SPYWARE FREE and you will NOT be plagued with popups, or any other kind of crap or malware as they call it these days. Now, would I lie to you?
NO is the immediate answer to that one!
Now go have a look and see if that program you fancied trying out is listed in their database. If it is then you might just avoid paying for it. Well, ahem, until you try it out for a little while of course.
Not that I condone such behaviour. I mean isn't it illegal?
Hmm.
Go have a look if you want:
PAYLESSSOFTS.COM

Music loving public! I have been trying my damndest to grab a copy of the latest Dylan radio show but it eludes me, maybe there is no show this week or maybe it is just not possible to get an early release. Anyway I have been preoccupied so no post of an album today...as yet!
There WILL be later, I promise!
For now I am re-upping some of the weeks previous posts as I am informed the links are dead. If you want anything you know where to email me...(check my profile page).
Ciao.

[2004] Oriental Garden Vol. 3

Hello again. I've had a bitch of a day... though not too bad I suppose, someone sent a small donation and I at least felt that something I did today was worthwhile hehe!
Illness and kids on school holidays and a small flat with tearaway neighbours kids...it is all ingredients for a frigging headache..at least a headache!

This album is one I love to listen to...helps me unwind.
As I actually looked it out today, to specifically have a listen to it, in the weak hope that it would not only help me unwind but actually MAKE ME unwind(!), I thought of you and decided to make it the next album for posting.
I mean, why should I have all the fun eh?!

It's called 'Oriental Garden' right, call me a thick twat but I always thought of Oriental as..well, you know(tries not to be unwittingly racist or politically incorrect here) people from Japan, China and 'those areas'...no?
Anyway, the first track on this beautiful DOUBLE CD COLLECTION is called 'Ride My Camel - Spy From Cairo'.
This track is unmistakably Eastern but more like arabic influence/tradition.
Is that really Oriental??
The rest of the album varies in genre through different styles and traditions of 'world' and relaxing music but I have to say I don't hear anything overtly chinese or what I thought to be 'Oriental'!
Maybe i should have googled the word Oriental before writing this?
Naaaah : I prefer to think I knew what it meant and that I still know. It is the creators of this album that are confused about it, not me.
Surely.
Anyway my friends, I can't write more as I am exhausted and, for once, am gooing to bed whilst it is still night and not, early morning.
Love you all.
No, really.

Check the NFO document here:

[2006] Akala - It's Not A Rumour

UPDATE!!!
Go here for a new repost for all you requesters going on and on at me! hehe

OK ... Music!

Akala.
The little brother of 'Ms dynamite'.
Unless you really have been hiding under a rock; are a complete gamer-geek-type; don't go out or even watch TV; are slightly retarded and unable to process information (or perhaps just from a country other than the UK haha!), you will already have heard the name.
No?
You might have heard the track 'Shakespeare' on the radio in the past few months or so. This album is from MAY so it isn't like, new.
One thing I am pleased to announce is that for once(for this site), you cannot get this on any other blogs/torrents whatever...not as far as I know mate. If you know better then that's fine. I will admit to talking bollocks.
Well this guy is being hailed as some kind of 'saviour' of 'black - street - music'. Almost like he has risen up from the streets and has a message for the world.
Whilst I definitely tip my hat to his way with words..the flow and the ability to rap that he no doubt has, I don't reckon any 'message' this kid has to convey is going to change the world. The fact is that he is just a kid.
Some of the lyrics made me cringe. It is a shame that because I actually like the sound. I have listened to this album loads since getting it a few days ago. Some of the tracks really stick in your head.
To put it in a nutshell: Englich/London-town rap with electric guitar in there which works so well I just fucking love it. really.
Honest!
There is a track called 'The Edge' where he raps over a simple but powerful riff, then it breaks at the chorus with a female vocal that just fits to perfection. A well crafted track.
The track that is being proclaimed as a display of his brilliance, on the mainstream media in UK at least, is 'Shakespeare'. Whilst I do like this track too I feel that some of the lyrics are just erm..well, let's just say he shows his age in the writing style! The whole idea behind this song is that he is a modern and black shakespeare of the modern age. The video even shows him in shakespeare garb and the joke is pretty funny I suppose. A snapshot lyric: 'It's like Shakespeare, with a nigga twist'...
...'No more tights now-jeans sagging, if I say so myself I'm much more handsome..'
and so on.
I haven't got the energy to take it down track by track for you but I want to tell every one of you to get this and have a listen. This guy has some serious work to give. Look out for the track that samples the guitar riff from 'London Calling - The Clash'...pretty good.
In some ways he verges on reminding me of an 'English Eminem'. Yes I know, Eminem...a parody of himself nowadays but even if you hate him and that kind of music(which I don't, well I don't hate that music but Eminem is crap these days of course!), you have to admit that he is sharp and has a sound and a way with words that can be pretty amazing at times.
Well, that is Akala.
Amazing at times.
Brilliant at the old sharp tongued fast frigging lyrical whatever you call it. Just a pity that some of it is a bit teenage.
That other 'street' or rap shit thing too is a bit unfortunate: These idiots have to say their own names in their 'songs' and claim their abilities, or blow their own fucking trumpets as it's known.
I do find that so irritating.
If they are that fucking good then just do it. Stop telling us about it.
Always reminds me of the playground.
So after reading that you probably think it's not worth the waiting for the download.
WRONG!
This 'kid' is a kid but he has got that spark.
Believe me, I am a musician and I can see it, feel it, hear it. He has it.
Have a listen.
Apparently he is the top tip for the upcoming MOBO awards.. check this.

Ok I think that might be enough links for you.
Please please please! If you cannot download this album from some combination of the links provided then DO NOT email me asking for help. Go and learn from google or something. Too many people type first and think later. Or just don't think at all and want everyone else to do that for them.!

More soon. Soon be Bob Dylan day around here. The last weeks show was excellent, looking forward to the next.
Ciao.

[2005] San Francisco Under a Groove - Various Artists

Hello my friends. Hey, enemies too. After all we live in a democracy, who holds grudges in todays society eh?!
Thanks to all of you who have been sending me wishes of good health. Amazing but maybe it is working: I feel marginally better today.
Wow.
The power.

Here is an album I have had sitting on this endless Hard Drive for ages, meaning to upload it just for the site(that, and a million othr albums I have noted for 'upload to the site soon'!) so today is the day!
Sorry but it is now over to a somewhat flakey Amazon Editorial review:

San Francisco Under a Groove is the second installment in the "Under a Groove," series. On a trip to Paris, we discovered a group of artists from France. These artists created a unique brew of funky dance music. Thus, Paris under a groove was born. Next from the homebase in San Francisco, we began the process of finding the right artists to showcase funk, jazz and soul based cutting edge dance music. This record offers a variety of artists who are a part of a new music scene from this unique city.

This record is filled with unreleased tracks, including; tracks from Miguel Migs, Triangle Orchestra, Will Felt, Irina Mikhailova, Maximillian, with words from the Rev. Cecil Williams. Plus the record offers tracks featuring standout vocalists, Lisa Shaw and Goapele. And the debuts of Andre Castano, Superbacana, and other great new artists. 74 minutes in length and divided into two parts; (Cocktails), new funk and jazz, soul breakbeat and (Late Night Grooves), featuring dubby funk, brazilian electro, and deep house. Take a trip to San Francisco with San Francisco Under a Groove.

So, take a trip to San Francisco.

I hope you enjoy it.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on this one if you can leave a comment. Cheers.

Bob Dylan THEME TIME RADIO HOUR EPISODE 15 'Eyes'

Hello. I said before that I was reserving just the one page for these shows but today is different. I can't do an update of music for you as I am feeling so damned ill and have been for the whole weekend. But I can hardly miss the Dylan shows out now can I?
I mean, I know there are quite a few of you that come here for it(and probably come here for nothing else!).
So I got it, early of course(!) and post it now.
As usual I am accepting ALL and any donations! It isn't compulsory of course but it's nice and helps me more than you could imagine. To those who have donated in the past, I am grateful to you all...thanks.
Hope you enjoy the show. I just listened to it and it's a really good one too. I am going to find a couple of the albums of artists featured on this weeks show and then post those here too. Let me know if you have any requests from there after hearing it and I will see what I can provide.

After a few complaints I post it as a single file this week!
The links are protected but still lead to the usual servers...the first is rapidshare for those that prefer it.

Bajofondo Tango Club - Supervielle (2004)

Hi everyone! This is my first post here, so I hope you like it.
Bajofondo TangoClub is an argentinian group that mixes the typical argentinian tango with some modern styles like House and Hip-Hop, but always keeping that Tango touch.
I personally recommend it, for all of you who want to discover some
great mixing of styles. But know this: If you've already listened to
typical argentinian tango and you've really liked it, probably you'll want
to murder everyone in that group, for "killing the typical tango". You are
warned!
Cheers!

And here is CD number two.
In my opinion, not quite as good as the first disc but Hendrix acoustic can't be bad right!

Jimi Hendrix - ACOUSTIC JAMS (Sphinx Records SXCD-001) [Bootleg] [live 1967-1970,soundboard]

Hello friends, enemies and all the rest of you.
Hendrix! What a guy. I like his personality, or what I know of it considering I was a snivelling imbecile whilst he was alive(so what's changed? Not much probably), but he always seemed like a really likeable personality. A genuine guy. If you know much about him and have seen much footage then you'll also know there was another side to him. A few moments have been taped, videoed, whatever where he was a moody fecker. Some shows he was so disinterested that he would wind up shouting insults at the audience, not playing the songs 'properly' or just generally displaying a lack of respect for performing. Some of these were in reaction to a fucked up and disrespectful audience: being so rowdy and arsey that Hendrix would reply by giving them a crappy show and leaving as soon as it was done. Sometimes leaving beforehand. I am just talking here; no googling; no 'Life Of Hendrix' guidebook in front of me, no quotes or factoids. It is true however as I've been following and looking up his performances for a while now. There will be many postings here in the future no doubt.

So this one...it is a bootleg release which I believe was done twice over the years with the same title of 'Acoustic Jams' but the important thing to note here, before you immediately think you've heard it(as there are a few 'hendrix acoustic, hendrix in his flat in NY and other hendrix acoustic stuff torrented or going around the net..') you need to pay attention to the SPHINX part in the title. This one is worth hearing believe me. Of course the NY/Drake Hotel solo stuff is the same here as found elsewhere but I find on this one it is about the best quality I have found. It is a compilation, as a million bootlegs are but it's a great set of tracks and some lovely, mellow playing by a guy who is obviously under no pressure, chilling out and strumming away.
Please be aware I am bringing you only the FIRST CD today due to having to reupload so many files, I will be uploading and posting CD TWO very soon don't fret!
The facts as far as I can tell are as follows:

Title: ACOUSTIC JAMS (Sphinx Records SXCD-001)
The guts of this are:
'Drake Hotel Demos, New York City, NY apr.1968 / Electric Demos 1968 / Outtakes 1967-70 plus The Apartment Jams, Jimi's House, Shokan, NY july-aug.1969 [The so-called "Taj Mahal Jams"])' - taken from various bootleg sources online!
