The Pink Floyd at Paris Cinema, London 1970 & 1971. Top quality and a brillaint show x2!

Forgive this sketchy post but I have just sat here and written for about a half hour, put images up etc and then what happens...? The browser fuckin' crashes that's what fucking happens.
So now I return with the same information but I am just going to hurry this post up and get the links out.
There is some in depth info about the files inside the rar files that you can read when you download.

The first time PF appeared on the 'John Peel Sunday Concert' show was(the CD1) in Paris Cinema, 16 July, 1970.
On Sept 30, 1971, they returned to the venue and played again, this time the show went out on John Peels 'In Concert' show. It was the first time that 'Echoes' and 'One Of These Days' were played on the BBC. Both of these shows have been kept by bootleggers and are avauilable if you know where to look of course. They are in great quality too.
I was originally only going to offer up the first of these shows as I got in in FLAC format and converted to 320k MP3 for you here.
Then I found the other show and realised that it goes around in another bootleg CD which has been around for a while, called 'BBC Archives'. the CD contains both of the shows, in MP3 format.
I found the second show, put it together with the one I had and so effectively I am now offering you the same as you will find in the bootleg CD called BBC Archives.
One show from 1970 and the other from '71.
I cannot stress just how brilliantly I feel The Pink Floyd(as they were known then) delivered on these shows. What a thing it would have been to be there.
Don't be a twat, download them and enjoy.

Oh and if you think I might be talking shit -especially after the 'Gazza' album, I'm not. Gazza was a joke! Even at that though surely it made you smile..?

!Tracklist!
Disc One, 16 July, 1970:
1. John Peel's Intro - The Embryo
2. Fat Old Sun
3. Green Is The Colour/Careful With That Axe, Eugene
4. If
5. Atom Heart Mother

Disc Two, 30 Sept, 1971:
1. Fat Old Sun
2. [John Peel Announcement]
3. One Of These Days
4. Embryo
5. Echoes
6. Blues

The two final tracks there: 'Echoes' and 'Blues' had me almost dribbling. Hehe. Probably the best LIVE Pink Floyd I could ever hear.

Gazza and Lindisfarne -- Let's Have a Party [1990]

For those of you who have never had the pleasure or the opportunity to listen to the great 'Gazza' then have I got a rare treat for you. This album is no longer in print (read: you cannot get this anywhere else! do not miss this chance!) and so it gives me great satisfaction to be able to get a hold of this and release it here for you to enjoy. For the people who know this album I have confidence in the fact that you will enjoy the trip back to the year 1990 with all the fun that this great album brings with it. May it also bring back some memories of those times for you. For those that are new to 'Gazza', all I can say is you have missed one of the greatest things that has ever come out of the british shores and, by downloading this and having the RARE CHANCE to hear it for yourself, you will finally be joining in the rest of the UK by becoming a fan of this hugely underated star of his time.
Do enjoy, won't you.

Unfortunately the bitrate is quite low but as it is such a rarity I trust you will not mind as I didn't. It is worth it just to hear it at all.

You might well wonder what the hell is happening with this site. Two things:
1. I have been very unwell.
2. I am trying to 'recruit'(?!) some new members as I mentioned before. The thing is, as you know we have such high standards here that we want to make sure every new member can bring you the music and pack the files etc, as they always are so things are a little slow right now but when they do pick up...it will be like it never has before and you will be spoiled.
SPOILED I tell you!

In fact, one of the new members was the provider of this very album so thanks to him for that. I cannot take the credit but also cannot name him...hehe

More useless information you didn't want to know.

As you are so worried abouit the welfare of my supercomputer and it's dead hard drive, here is an update.
I thought I should come and post this kind of in the spirit of a suicidal man who wants to make sure he gets a last poignant message out to the world.
I am going to finish this post; come offline; power-down the machine. Then I will take out the anti-static mat; The screws will be relaxed from the rear of the casing.
With a steady yet shaking hand I will proceed to secure the Hard Drive bay area and then locating the screws for hard drive -0; release them and carefully relocate the drive to the floor.
This will probably bring me to such a climactic and stressful state that it would be wise to stop for recuperation at this point. It depends entirely on my ability to stay calm and focused on the delicate task before me.
I will remove the wiring and cables from the drive at -3; then, carefully and without hesitation, check the pathway is clear and secrete said drive into its new station (this being -0). God willing, all will be well at this juncture. If I have failed by this time you will hear my voice no more. Trust and I will come through.
Once the drive is fitted into the bay I just have the unenviable task of edging the screws into the holes; one by one; treading like a spider atop the surface of water: I cannot let the surface tension get the better of me. Placing the plugs in, red wire to the right( avoiding certain calamity), cable wire to the left, I will be in the proud and cocksure postition of a man who has the target in his sights; the finish line is in view; obstacles; mountains; have been surmounted, passed.
I'll fire it up and then get on with the software issues. Just the small matter of placing the old 40Gb image onto a freshly cleared drive.
Seconds later, I will be back.

[1999] Putumayo Presents Caribe! Caribe! [caribbean]

For a while this site was starting to get people coming just for these Putumayo series uploads. Well I now have most of my collection sorted out and just found a few links to fill in the blanks for some I didn't have.
So here is one of my favourites...a caribbean journey that spans some light dub-reggae to the more traditional caribbean sound as you can hear in the sample video I made.
The All Music Guide review of this album goes like this....
Putumayo's compilation Caribe! Caribe! takes you all over the Caribbean. Not one to be predictable, Putumayo keeps the listener guessing by providing everything from the Black Uhuru-ish reggae of Don Carlos and Gold's "Movin' to the Top" to energetic, infectious sounds from St. Thomas (Osha's "Come Again"), Martinique (Kali's reggae-influenced "La Biguine des Enfants du Bon Dieu"), Belize (Andy Palacio's "Nabi"), and Barbados (Krosfyah's "In Mi System"). Nothing from Cuba, Puerto Rico, or the Dominican Republic is included, but one can hear a strong salsa influence on Haitian singer Beethova Obas' "Lina" and Curacao group La Perfecta's "Bai Drecha Bo Bin." Especially infectious is Aruban band E.Q.Q.'s exuberant "Promo Bia," which is sung in Papiamento, a language that is an unlikely combination of romance and African languages and Dutch. Like many other Putumayo compilations, Caribe! Caribe! boasts comprehensive, informative liner notes and treats the music with the respect it deserves.

Sorry to give you atomic explosions but I just watched this movie about all of the US nuke tests that were pretty much hidden from the public until, well, a few years ago. Not sure of the dates exactly.

Have a listen to a track (Track 05 - Nabi by Andy Palacio)from the album whilst perusing some footage. again, it goes together well.

Caribe! Caribe! (Atomic Rape Accompaniment).

If the above movie won't work or play, click here to open and watch it in a new window.

All I do know is that I had no fucking idea of just how badly these bastards have raped the planet with their monstrous bombs! You will see in the clip, they tested a lot of high megaton atomic bombs UNDERGROUND which basically caused earthquakes and massive ruptures of the ground, which is visible in the video. Horrendous.

Enjoy the Putumayo and don't forget..as you seem to have: Make your REQUESTS in the request box and you will find that like most others who did, it will be filled!
Ciao!

[1993] Altan - Island Angel [Best Celtic Fiddle you'll EVER hear!]

Don't believe your suspicions that this site is rapidly going downhill with hardly any updates; poor album uploads; shite patter and even less reason to visit as each day passes.
So wrong.
My health recently took a nosedive and so...life is such.
Anyway I trust you are not that fickle or shallow and like me, will stick with it until the storm passes. As the storm may not pass as quickly as I would like there are some new people entering our small world. New blood. New uploads! Maybe even albums that you will appreciate instead of the crap that I give out.
That was ironic.
So what I am saying is, stick with it, keep checking and one day soon this place will be a hive of activity, updating faster than you can say 'fuck me my browser cache is full again!'.

Ok so in the spirit of my other recent posts, here is a similarly rushed upload for you.
As usual not much information but if you like Irish, Celtic and more specifically fiddle music then this is for you.
There is a female vocal on this that actually does nothing for me. Scratch that, she does do something, irritates my brain until I just have to skip to the next track. It's the usual old gaelic-celtic sounding moaning vocal and I can't stand shit like that.
Wait!!!...This is worth getting because it boasts some of the finest fiddle music I ever heard. If you don't believe me then you will still have to try it to find out.
Ahem, no point in a tracklist(thank fuck) but here's a link or three for some more info...

Hundred Reasons - Kill Your Own [2006]

This album has been playing here for the last few days...pretty good at a pelting level of volume. At least enough to make you feel as if you are going to burst and eardrum or at the least shake it loose.
I saw these guys do a live TV show a while back and was immediately struck by the lead singers passion. His voice could be described as screeching to the uninitiated but there is a lot more to him than that. He gets almost possessed when singing and seems to have lost all control and sense of the world around him as he jerks and bandies around the stage with all the finesse of a retarded monkey trying to learn how to pogo.

That aside, he really knows how to put his heart and soul into music. The genre I suppose is thrash or indie or metal or even punk...there are far too many derivatives these days and I get lost within the maze of ever changing, ever growing genres. It's LOUD and it's NOISY and it's fucking brilliant.
Let's not forget that the band doesn't only have a singer in it. I think there's a couple of other unimportant losers hanging around in the background but let's face it, they're expendable right?! Glorified session musicians! The singer reels you in and spits you out like mince!!!

I just found out they are appearing at a surfing festival in June...at Newquay in Cornwall. Great! I have family there, used to live there. What possible reason could I find that would stop me being able to go?!!
Oh yeah...illness.
I must go! I WILL GO.
I'm GOING. See If I Don't!

I thought I'd test out that YouTube thing so that you can actually hear a song from the album on the page, right here. The thing is that YouTube provides a video embedding service(put videos on your webpage for free), not for music. So I made a little video of Godzilla and it has the song playing in it. The two things go together surprisingly well!
This one is my favourite song and shows you just how versatile the singer is...it's pretty mellow, a good melody and strumming guitar rock.
Have a listen!

Entitled 'The Chance'.

Ricky Gervais Podcast Episode 6 , Series 2

Ricky Gervais Podcast series 2 Episode 6
ricky gervais 2x06, 2x6 final episode, podcast!
Is it the FINAL EPISODE?
Forever?
Maybe it should be?!

Hmm that should be enough search engine crap.

Well I am a bit sorry to say, but not surprised really, that this show was/is just not funny this time. I mean, hope long can two guys take the piss out of another guy? I know, to infinity +1 but not if they don't add anything new into it. Karl, the funny guy in this latest series of podcasts has now started to TRY to be funny. When the un-funny stooge or the 'unconscious comedian' realises that everyone thinks he's hilarious and then starts to TRY to be funny....Zzzzzzz.
They have to stop it fast. They need to realise the sad fact that people weren't laughing at their jokes or with them but just blatantly AT them.
Karl is funny because he is stupid. You don't dislike him for it or even feel you are being disrespectful or derogatory in finding him funny as he is apparently oblivious to it and doesn't care. When he starts to try to make you laugh and thinks he is some kind of funny guy then someone has to say NO.
I fear this show is reaching a sort of natural ending. Gervais, in this show at least, is boring boring boring. When he isn't just shouting at Karl he has this annoying habit of trying to sound like an educated fool! He comes over all pseudo intellectual and tells Karl the science behind some topic or other and the funny part of that is...He fucking gets it wrong himself too! Thus looking like a real idiot!
Like last week he said the moon spins around or words to that effect! Something about how we see the moon spinning from Earth...I hadn't picked up on it until they read an email out this week with people telling him he was wrong. He still tried to sound intelligent and then turned the conversation around to a complete attack on Karl for - get this- being stupid!
Anyway...Enjoy!
