David Bowie - Preludes Of Greatness [1969] [Boot]

Hello Rabbits and Weasels. It soon be the ol' Season of the Witches and Ghostly Spooks and all that crap.
Who would know, these days, that the whole damn thing is based upon or at least mixed with and intertwined with a Christian tradition? (Have a look on things like 'eve of All Saints Day' or 'All Hallows Day').
Funny when you get a Christian nowadays saying they don't 'celebrate' Halloween and even the folk who refuse to let their kids get involved with it at school and with their friends.
It is pathetic.
I mean..seriously, there are no such things as Demons or Ghouls people.
Don't let an old Christian tradition convince you of otherwise as it's a whole load of wishy washy bullshit.

I have had a few requests to re upload this fine bootleg in the past so here it is...worthy of a whole new post on its and not only because the previous post was way back in 1974 and this one might bring new people to the greatness of Bowie so it had to be done!
There are many, many bootlegs collected of David Bowie and they cover right from his early days up to the present day. Like my Dylan bootlegs obsession I seem to have a penchant for the older stuff where Bowie is concerned. He had such a skill...such a melodic voice and I just love it. As I said when I posted this one before...information on it is hard to come by so all I know is: It was recorded in 1969 and was recorded at Clairville Grove, Chelsea. I don't even know if they mean in UK or some other Chelsea as there's loads of them around the world no doubt. Oh well who cares. It SOUNDS fine!

Seems this is a speed corrected version of another bootleg known as 'Beckenham Oddity' or one called A Letter To Hermione

VA - San Francisco under a groove Vol.01

OK. A weekend has gone by and I didn't post anything else. I suck.

I spent a lazy weekend listening to lazy music and so I brought some with me this time.

I can't explain why I like this one but I do.
I think its great to 'mong out' to, if you get that term.
It's just as good background music to, it's just nice and chilled out but with a funky beat. Good stuff.
It is a fact.

Richie Havens - Mixed Bag [1967]

Good evenin' and welcome.
Hmm. I thought twice about posting this after re listening to it today and not getting on too well with some of its deeper moments of utter cheesiness and almost sickeningly sweet pop.
But wait...I can totally understand why he called it Mixed Bag, do, read on:

On the other hand Havens was a cool dude. His unique and original guitar playing style is amazing. So simple but he's the only guy who plays that way. I think he always plays open tuned guitars too or he definitely does tune the guitar differently, I remember that much. I should look it up.
So this must be posted for, in between the cheese and pap there are some brilliant gems of true Richie Havens magicK!

Hello again, it's late, I haven't slept for weeks(OK slight exaggeration maybe) and to top it all I was wondering what to post when I checked the rapidshare page and discovered I had already uploaded this set months ago and never posted the links!

After the previous post I was thinking, you might be in need of some soothing of the neurons. I know I am. This one will either bore you shitless (not too sure of that term but it'll do) or you will be so relaxed by the tunes that you may actually relax the sphincter muscle so much that, alas, you will be relaxed into shitting yourself. Either way it sounds like a bad deal eh.

Neither of those outrageous set of circumstances happened to me when I listened to it so you might be OK.

La Caina : Head in the Clouds by Cafe Del Mar [2007]

Hello again folks.
Just a quick drop in from me..feel like shit; just for a change, the old illness is hitting me senseless.

I always loved anything Cafe Del Mar and I found this one last week, as you could via a simple search - it seems to be all over the net suddenly for an album released in 2006!
So erm, where was I..Oh yeah I didn't realise there was anything Del Mar that I was still to hear.
Glad to say I am now enlightened and I recommend it!!
Sit back and chill..

I might add that I was unaware of the whole La Caina By Cafe Del Mar stuff so there's more I need to hear...and you also in that case.

Bob Dylan Theme Time Radio Hour S03E02 'MONEY Part 2' [HIGH QUALITY MP3]

Hey there..Seems to have flown by this week.
I bring you the second show in the new series of Theme Time Radio hour.
Did you enjoy the first one? I did. Not only because I was so eager to get back into the groove of my weekly Dylan fix but more to do with the content!
I think the faked phone calls really are a bit crass but, apart from that I love sitting back and letting Bob play me some music I have never heard before. Great old tunes that mean something. So much of what he plays is new to me ears..I often find myself hunting down some album or other after hearing a band or artist on his show...it's cool.

Am I being naive in my thinking Bob would have included the Pink Floyd track 'Money' in this theme..?
Maybe so.

I'm off now to go listen and enjoy.

Wow. It really is that time again.
I'm just going to sit back and enjoy this... it seems like such a long time since the last show.

Great choice of theme for the first show coming back ... Money.
I would expect the old Pink Floyd track to be in it but I suppose that's just too predictable eh...? Mind you it seems this is just 'Money Part 1' so that could mean that next week or some other future show we will get another show based on the theme of Money. I bet he'll include the Floyd track on that one. :)
