THE MUSIC OF ISLAM - Volume Ten: Qur'an Recitation

PLEASE VOTE IN THE POLL!

I know this one might infringe upon the bigoted few and their inability to see past religion to listen to something that might just be a bit special.
Yes it is a Koran recital. A prayer no less. Not my bag but definitely a part of this collection and as such, worth hearing in that context.

Because the West is facing a concerted effort by Islamic jihadists, the motives and goals of whom are largely ignored by the Western media, to destroy the West and bring it forcibly into the Islamic world -- and to commit violence to that end even while their overall goal remains out of reach. That effort goes under the general rubric of jihad.

Jihad (in Arabic, "struggle") is a central duty of every Muslim. Modern Muslim theologians have spoken of many things as jihads: the struggle within the soul, defending the faith from critics, supporting its growth and defense financially, even migrating to non-Muslim lands for the purpose of spreading Islam. But violent jihad is a constant of Islamic history. Many passages of the Qur'an and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad are used by jihad warriors today to justify their actions and gain new recruits. No major Muslim group has ever repudiated the doctrines of armed jihad. The theology of jihad, which denies unbelievers equality of human rights and dignity, is available today for anyone with the will and means to bring it to life.

Jihad Watch(http://jihadwatch.org)is dedicated to bringing public attention to the role that jihad theology and ideology plays in the modern world, and to correcting popular misconceptions about the role of jihad and religion in modern-day conflicts. We hope to alert people of good will to the true nature of the present global conflict.

Just in case - I'm not Turkish, my nikname © TurK © is almost 30 years old (from primary school so thats not my basis of enthusiuasm for this collection, music is my driving force & behind that i guess being buddhist and acknowledging the potency (of any religion or not) of music and connection to us and a higher plain of perception - Be it buddhist monks, African tribal chants or the kuran recital .. anyone mildly open to that knowledge will find a sense of peace, respect & compassion from listening to any music .

Just thought i'd say. "Its the music man" - my religious belief (though i dont consider buddhism a religion) is personnal & the only way it will effect anyone is for the "greater good".

Respect to All
Peace

'Allo :)

k this is where thinmgs get confusing (if your fussy like me & want everything in order..)

This is Volume 10 BUT CD 11

As stated in the 1st Volume there are 17 CD's in this set (maths :) = 6 more cd's)

1 Volume had 2 cd's (which was 1 track (of L-e-n-g-t-h... a kind of John Holmes track (Google or Wiki if you care)

ANOTHER volume (around 5 or 6 had 4 parts listed but only 2 (1 & 2) were active -

Did we miss anything (it appears NOT via the nfo/text file accompanying this volume ("CD 11, Volume 10")

Plz Boss - can you confirm with a "yes o'course you daft twat, i'd tell yah" or "Opps thanks for pointing that out"?

ps Keep on keepin' on....

Hey just thought - a Buddhist chant/temple 'gigs' next? i got 6 :) or are the MP3@3pm krew after some breakaway from 'traditional' world music for awhile do you think?
- 'krew'? do you think?

guess who ? :)

Oh and being a Mac user - want any cool Mac apps for mp3 (free)

1 - RETRO PLAYER 1.6.0 --> a Vinyl Reproduction effect, standalone, plays 1 track (mp3) at a time or acts as a "plug-in" for iTunes (the too kiddy frilly iTunes - how i miss Soundjam - a REAL Mans mp3 player)
2 - Library Loader (GNU Pub Licence) Being written as i speak, this will allow LARGE librarys to be divided into ANYWAY you prefer - genre being the obvious or whatever.
or the not so free
3 - Synergy (handy menu bar controller with album cover retrival and a re-sizeable track & info display window.
4 - MP3 Rage (or Media Rage) Both tag related apps - name says it all mp3 or ALL media that has tags.
etc ???

I'll blame this post on © TurK ©

Well turk, I would echo your sentiments except for maybe a couple of changes...for one I don't have respect for fuckheads such as the supposed 'in the know' asshole above calling himself jihadwatch and using this lowly site as a means to advertise a pile of religious-political-provocateur shite!
I wish people would realise just this:
This is a fucking MUSIC blog -
Not a political or religious one.

I definitely have an opinion on religion...oh yes...but I am NOT using this blog as the place to debate it. It is far too big a topic and to be honest I'm getting a bit bored with the whole muslim/christian/terror thing so people like the above jihadwatcher...fuck off please.

Everyone else - ENJOY THE MUSIC!
