HENDRIX and other stuff

Hello all..
I don't want to give over too much time to this but I think you deserve to have a little explanation.
Someone decided to report all of the Hendrix disc set files to the rapidshare people and so they have deleted them. Surprise surprise!
The reason I never used to use rapidsahre before was?
Yep, because of their speed of deleting links. I thought that using Share-protect or rapidsafe was an er, protection.
Hehe obviously not right?
I just thought I would let you know, if links do get deleted it isn't the end of the world and in fact, makes absolutely no difference because as I have said before, I have a constant uploading stream going. This PC has not been switched off for years save for the odd reboot!
The files that were deleted are already reuploading so I will obviously let you know on the Hendrix.
I will stop using the crappy rapidshare once again. I mean what is the point when the other hosting places are so much more relaxed(they do not care about such things as copyright!) about the files they host and are also not as willing to just remove files on the whim of someone reporting them.
So, expect to be downloading from different hosts again now. Don't worry about that: I will not be trying loads of different hosts and giving you non working links etc, I already have my favourite hosts and they work brilliantly. I only stopped using those because RS brought out a handy uploading tool and so I started using RS again.
Well, fuck rapidshare!
More soon. Music I mean, not rambling!

A comment would be appreciated!LINKS:

Marvellous that you have that non-stop upstream.. :)
RS deletes links on mere reporting, they don't have the time to check anything as they admitted themselves when someone tested them: uploaded x MB of nothing to RS (a file that was x MB but contained nothing, used on FTP's to test transfer speeds), then reported their own link, waited till it was obviously deleted, then complained to RS calling them dummies. Got the answer above. So basically anyone can get anything deleted in RS for any or no reason at all, as long as they get the direct RS link. It's their Achilles heel. There is a free and easy to use protect/redirect service (as compared to rapidsafe.de for instance...) here that you can test if you're in the mood.
Else I hope your other upload sites work both for you and all of us. :=]]
Auguri!

Just visit 8daysinapril.blogspot.com you will see what they do and how often links get deleted.
Alvega said abot lix.in, i just have look, what they do basically is include rapidshare page in there page. If you know how to use your PC, you guys can know the link easily.

I do software commerce, and everytime I reported cracked software hosted in rapidshare, they ask me to prove ownership. Take about 1 week, they will remove the file.
Other host has the same thing. Trust me! Rapidshare is more preferable because of its speed and its stability.

Why don't we all just respect the choices of the person who goes through the trouble of uploading the files. What some people seem to forget is you are handed a present. If you don't like the way it is presented, you are completely free to refuse the offer and take yourself elsewhere. Personally I am gratefull for the gift and I don't mind whether "unwrapping" it takes 2 minutes or 2 hours!

So therefore, thank you again hitmewithit.

Hmm what a crop of comments. Amazing.
Let me just sum up what I think about the whole 'protecting inks' situation.
I, for one, find it VERY EASY to get the direct RS links from any one of those so called protelieve me, I had a good look yesterday and not one of them stopped me from getting the link. As I reckon the kind of people who report links probably know a little about their PCs then I would conclude that there is no such thing as link protection. I used Paylesssofts for a while and then get complaints of ads and popups(though that does piss me off, If people can't protect their own PCs from silly, non threatening ads then what am I to do??). Anyway, I do not like rapidshare for its limitations and of course, being Scottish, for its absolute success in cornering the marklet for filehosting but the main reason I hate it is this: since RS started giving points away for upload and download numbers etc, to even free account holders, there has been an amazing amount of spamming on some really good sites I go to. People are now so desperate...once you introduce GREED into a situation all hell breaks loose right?...they are uploading mulit-part files to rapidshare and naming them as if they are all kinds of things, the latest episode of LOST, Prison Break, Porn films, A recent Movie, etc etc(basically whatever they think will initiate the most downloads). The thing is, you guessed it, the files are usually filled with junk data and they are passworded and encrypted so that some poor twat goes and downloads the whole set of them before realising he has just given some scammer a load of points for nothing and wsadted his bandwidth etc.
I just see the whole 'scene' (I hate that term but not sure what else to use!) has changed dramatically since RS introduced 'earning' into the world of 'sharing'.
People and their greed knows no bounds.

OK that's enough of that.

I must inform those of you that think otherwise: Rapidshare is NOT the ONLY friggin' free filehost service online!!
contrary to popular belief, the alternatives ARE and CAN BE better.
Yes, you did read that correctly!
There are sites with no limits, downlload managers can be used freely, multiple upload streams for the help of uploaders like myself, lots of other differences that RS does not have.
If the fact of never using RS again scares you out of your self-made cocoon of security then sorry: Get over it!! There is a whole world out there(here?..whatever).
So I will use the hosts I know to work and that I like but in the meantime I will be testing and occassionally posting, some hosts I haven't used before. Feedback is ALWAYS welcomed and I will be relying on YOU to tell me your experiences ok.

agaruda: THANKS mate for such an eloquent comment. I have to say and this is not because I am uploading here, I totally agree with you...when I am on other sites and being the download, I will often make comments just like the one you did on this page. People are so fucking used to getting what they want on a plate, when they want it, how they want it. They never stop to think about how they are being perceived due to their unbelievably selfish attitude.
Hmmf.

To the guy who says about software commerce and rapidshare removing files. Other hosts do not all do the same thing. There are many hosts in RU or UA or LV domains that really couldn't give a toss about US or UK copyrights. For now at least.
Ahem. Am I still rambling on here? Maybe I should make this todays post!
Over and out.

One more thing, Thanks for the 'thanks'.
?
HAHA!

Hi hitmewithit,
There's been a blitz of deletions at RS over the last few days. I know from my own uploads, and from trying to D/L other people's posts and getting the complaints have been received message.
How can anonymous who does software commerce explain the removal, often in less than 24 hours, of files I've posted ?

Cheers
belubettlo (came seeking TTRH at a decent br)
BTW, I'm surprised the links protection doesn't work. It looks pretty effective at a cursory glance, and I was thinking of giving it a try.

OK. Thanks for the wikiupload link and the comments! cheers.
Hey Mr belubettlo! Nice to see you dropping by! You will like the encode this week then. Same as last week and not a glitch anywhere....the sad thuing is: eben though I seem to have fixed my audio encoding problems of old, I got a new 320Gb SATA HD today and, I have been getting loads of crappy error in XP lately so it is time for a nice new clean install. Hopefully the mp3 encoding will be better for it too!
Such a lot to do....argghh...

I am unzipping a Dylan DVD as I write this. Thanks.

I can change your world if you like printing with an inkjet printer. What is cheaper then refilled or generic cartridges?

No cartridges!!! (sort of)

Take a look into Continuous Ink Systems (continuous in supply or CIS). Resivoir bottles of ink sit just outside the printer, feeding "phony" cartridges with the ink via silicon tubes. A good "isobarically** balanced system with 100ml of each colour cost less then one set of original cartridges, and supplies you with 8-10 cartridges worth of ink!

in a nut shell- if you pay .20¢ for a sheet of 8.5 x 11 photo paper, expect to pay @.10¢-.15¢ for ink, making a perfect full page photo for less then .35¢! Compare that to WalMart or Costco at $2.99 for an 8x10.

**(isobarically balanced- no needles or priming needed- steady flow of ink.) I do not sell them, I only use them.

If you wish more info, e-mail me- rudijock at gmail.com or see one hooked op to one of my printers at geocities.com/rudedude121

'Cheers... Rudi from Toronto. (realy, I dont sell them. I do know a company- but I am not affiliated with them.)

Pssst! All links already redone.
Will be working on encoding, tagging and renaming the next disc tomorrow. They are not in MP3 format, I have to do a lot to them before uploading so bear with me and I'll hurry it up if I can. I'm sure there's people wondering if they'll ever get past disc 06 and ever even see disc 20!
I hope so eh?!

Thanks for all of the great music. They've been good.
