Muse - Black Holes and Revelations [2006]
I was drawn to this band(whilst knowing absolutely nothing of their name let alone the music they make) after HitMeWithThis posted something about their single on here..I think(?). Well that led me to find more and so I have this album. This very popular album it would seem from the amount of postings of it here there and everywhere. What do I think?
Does it matter?
Mediocre-to-good rock.
Not exactly knocking me out but I like listening to it.

I'm a working solo musician and I'm a fan of Muse - but I always felt that they have 3 or 4 songs that they keep doing over. I think why I like them is that I'm a sucker for a minor key - and almost all of their stuff is a 3 chord minor key progression, sometimes throwing in a 4th or 5th for a break. I have to say I now agree with your comments on rocket science & sheep.

Hey regarding the minor key stuff. It is a great sound I agree.. I remember nights spent strumming Black Magic Woman when I first played guitar and me and my mates would be so stoned we'd play that chord progression for hours, laying solo's over it and under it and around it until it was just so amazing and, and and..well you get the idea.
I think I will go and dust the fretboard down and give it a bash right now!

Black Holes and Revelations isn't their best album. Have you listened to their other albums yet? Try Origin of Symmetry or Absolution. You might change your mind.
