The Raconteurs LIVE AT LEEDS Festival 2006 {PRO SHOT DVD BOOTLEG>>XviD Video]

For me to simply say 'I love this band' wouldn't be enough. To say this concert is one of their best that I've managed to find as a video, would still not quite get the message across.
I swear it: This is THE gig of The Raconteurs that, amongst the ones that are available and around online, is one of the best. I've been playing it over and over on the TV whilst sitting on the PC quite a bit lately and I don't get tired of it. Still singing along.

Aug 27 2006 Leeds Festival - Leeds, UK.
That would have been some festival gig to see.
Damn.
I need to get out there and go to a festival this year.
I must see this band next time there's a chance.
I'm not up to writing much tonight so let me just say have a look at this one and see what you reckon. I ripped it from a pro shot DVD bootleg which has floated around a bit but took me a while to get on a very slow download ... It's ripped to XviD at the following..
Video Info:
Frame Width x Height: 624 x 352
Aspect Ratio : 1.773
Framerate (FPS): 25.000
Video Bitrate (kbps): 1234

Audio Info:
Audio Codec : MPEG-1 Layer 3
Audio Sample Rate (Hz): 48000
Audio Bitrate(kbps): 320
Audio Bitrate Type ): CBR
Audio Channel Count: 2

Quality?

Great of course...what did you think I would do a crap rip?

EDIT: It must have been a weird glitch in mediaplayer but the file I ripped is the whole concert!! No problems with it at all, sorry for the mistake :)

The sound is clear and really crisp so it's nice.

Bob Dylan Theme Time Radio Hour S03E17 'COPS& ROBBERS' [HIGH QUALITY MP3]

Hello.
Time is a shit sometimes. Finding time, sparing some time or even just sitting back, feeling old and realising how time has carried you so many years forward and yet you still feel like you are in the same place.
Does any of that even make sense?
It does to me at least.
Well due to certain restraints on my time of which I will spare you the details, I am just putting this on right now to listen to it myself. Yet again I can't really offer any kind of review on the content of the show.
I could of course just read from the track list and then give my comments on that but ... wouldn't you prefer your own summary of a tracklist?
OK a few things about it:
I love Billy Bragg and so the inclusion of him into Bob's playlist is a good one for me!
'I fought The Law' by The Crickets? Have to confess to never having heard this one. Why didn't he just put The Clash track of the same name (probably the same song, I don't know til' I hear it), I love The Clash song. That reminds me, I don't believe I have posted any The Clash here before. That must be addressed soon!
As for the rest of the playlist there, maybe it shows me to be retarded musically, or am I in with the majority of listeners when I say - I don't think I know of any of the other artists/tracks. OK, we all heard of The Byrds so I don't mean them but, the others...?

I am looking forward to this one as I'm always interested in hearing artists I hadn't known of. that has always been the draw of Dylan's show for me. I've discovered much about the history of music and some bloody good artists.
On with the show!!
Well as you know the theme this week is 'Cops & Robbers' so, have a quick look at the tracks and then grab yourself a copy and enjoy.
This weeks show only just didn't fit into a 100Mb rar file. So, if you usually don't grab the plain MP3 one I upload then make sure to download the two split parts of the rar files. Even though part 2 is only about 450K! This'll all make sense when you go to the download page...
TrackList
01 Call The Police - Nat King Cole Trio
02 The Highway Patrol - Red Simpson
03 Dupree Blues - Willie Walker
04 Against Th' Law - Billy Bragg & Wilco
05 I Fought The Law - The Crickets
06 This Crooked World - Freddie Hall & His Band
07 Poor Jesse James - Bascolm Lamar Lunsford
08 Pretty Boy Floyd - The Byrds
09 Bad Detective - The Coasters
10 La Muerta de Federico Garcia - Los Socios
11 Police On My Back - The Equals
12 Dirty People - Smilet Lewis
13 I'm A Lonesome Fugitive - Merle Haggard

Duration : 60:45

Thanks for the kindness, it is very much appreciated.

Enhanced Listening, or my new love of E.ric Gales

Hello hello hello to you all this fine and rainy evening.
Watching the news about the fires in Australia was pretty saddening. Followed by a programme on the situation in Gaza, Panorama. Interesting yet so much sadness, again.
My own situation seems to be bringing me much of the same for a good few weeks now, makes you wonder what the hell is happening all around you when there's no shining lights or inspiration to feed off of. Then I remember - Life is but a pile of shit and we are here to see if we can plough through said shit, without getting covered in it too much.
(A great man once said)

E.ric Gales
What a guy.
He lays on the Hendrix DVD Rip I posted recently. the tribute concert that I have spent about 6 hours so far on trying to rip the friggin DVD to avi file without success due to its always coming off out of sync in parts. (I will overcome this so hang on in there with me and we shall be rewarded!!).
I loved watching and listening to Gales on that as he is just so friggin' good a guitarist it causes the odd dropping of the jaw and, to be honest, a real streak of jealousy too if you play guitar.
So that's what made me look up something by him and here is what I found.

The Psychedelic Underground [2007]

At this point I have to confess (could I lie to you brothers...?) that I emailed 'P' earlier today and told him that 'although I have upped an album etc for today I did it before listening to it and I was disappointed so much so thast I was now wondering if I ought to post it at all!'
Well that was yesterday right.
I put the album on today for it's second listening session.
I prepared a nice spliff and run an almost filled bath.
with the rain outside and not a little stomach pain to put up with, this was the best idea I could come up with. So I put the album on and lay back fully ears open, all my attention going the way of the loud speakers and his album.

The result, I am VERY happy to report, was that I love this bloody album.
Hehe.
How wrong one can be when one is in an irritable mood (yesterday) and possibly, not quite relaxed enough (OK -stoned then).
I'm not a total turncoat you understand. I was astute enough yesterday to note that there was just a bland sound of Ameri-Rock with a slew of tracks that just came out of the stereo but none making a real HIT or impression.
Well the same was true today.
But only for the first couple of tracks!
I have to say that, as this album goes on you really start to get the feeling' that he's sending you. You cannot fail to be impressed by the guitar playing on this record, it's as good as anything you are likely to hear by anyone. To say he has a 'bit of Hendrix' in him is not an idle suggestion..have a listen, he is up there with the best of them no doubt about it!

I won't be giving you any track list or track by track evaluation, why start now eh? I will tell you that there are so many influences that you can pick out as the album unfolds...Hendrix of course, Gary Moore with some real nice minor Blues, then all manner of American style Guitar Rock artists flicker in and out of my mind as I listen to the rest of the tracks.
I urge you to try this now that I have my new found love of this guy.

Oh damn damn damn! I have just tried to use the redirection service at paylesssofts.net (where almost ALL of the links I have ever posted are going to) to discover that the domain is sold to an ad/search company and the redirection is no longer there. So now I have a million links to fix. Fuck!

Split Rars Alternative 1] Part 1, Part 2.

Todays moral is: Fuck redirection sites...they are SO pointless and I am not amused.

Enjoy the album and PLEASE, if you download it, let me know what you think of it!

Celebrate Micah P Hinson!

Yeurgh.
I am a firm believer in the TRUTH.
At all times, surely.
So it is perhaps that that leads me to always tell you when I am so ill and attempt to explain the absence. I mean, I could just come on and post some crap link to another music site or, worse, I could come and upload anything, write a load about it when I am just not able to get into even having a refresher listen to the album. I don't like to do that.
Every album I share with you I listen to thoroughly!
Either it is something that I already know so well that I can give you my take on it, or it is something new to me and so I want you to share in the experience it has given me.
Both of those requires that I am actually listening to the music and then writing something here!
Well this Crohn's Disease can get so bad that those options become so difficult to achieve some days!
The past few weeks has seen a serious downward trend in my health/abilities. The illness affects me that way; Slowly, slowly, over months or years the symptoms get worse..more nausea, more pain, more weakness and fatigue.
The weakness and pain are running the whole show right now so it makes it hard to do much. I am on strong painkillers and that is just another thing to contend with as they mess with your personality. Well, they mess with your mood, I should say. concentration becomes a problem.
So there it is again.
Crohn's Disease taking over more of a post than the music info!

Micah P Hinson.
I was glad to receive a few emails on the subject of my previous post of this guy. People do like him!
I still think he is a special voice in our times that needs to be heard. Just for those moments of quiet you can get for yourself. To be in a peaceful surrounding and listen to this guy is an enlightening experience.
Here are some more of his entries to the History of the World music repertoire.
