Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam [2006]

Right. I must confess to having somewhat missed the boat as far as Pearl Jam goes. I always used to see them as the music that spotty melancholy teenagers used to listen to, the grungey kids that liked to dwell on just how unfair and bad life was whilst at the same time doing absolutely fuck all to change it!
Ahem.
Meanwhile back in the present, things are changing. I listened to this for the first time yesterday and well, let's just say it certainly isn't melancholic or depressing. Unless I am actually depressed and therefore unable to be objective? Hmm. Maybe.
This is good solid rock music in a fine form. It can be heavy and verging on the metal side of music but then it can come back and hit you with a slower track like 'Come Back' which is acoustic and mellow.
The whole album has many sounds in there from heavy metal to grunge(!) to indie(whatever that actually means these days) and verging on Punk. Then there are drum sequences that are reminiscent of certain Pink Floyd excerpts, guitar solos that wouldn't sound out of place on a number of prog-rock albums and vocals that are strong and consistent throughout. The singer has a likeable voice and I am liking it. Seriously, it's all in there.
I could really like this shit!
I never thought I'd say it but here it is again just to be sure..
Pearl Jam are pretty good.
Download it now!

Thank you, good sir! And if you're just dipping your toast into the Pearl Jam -- ah-ga-ga-ga--ga-ga! -- then might I be so bold as to suggest checking out "No Code," an album the band released in 1996. Do luv the blog, if only for its attitude! (Seriously, I dig it.)

Hey nice to come andread a pleasant comment once in a while!
I got a hold of the album 'Ten' which, once I have actually heard it, was ythinking of posting up here...also got some MTV unplugged video of them which after just seeing a few minutes of it looks pretty good. Bad thing is it's obviously a bad quality vhs recording but the sound is good.
As for my attitude...hehe well. what can I say.
Cheers. Make sure you get todays album because it fuckin' rocks.

Tanks a lot, PJ has many great records and theyre certainly older but this disc has much of the stuff from the first records (like hevyer guitars, crazy drums). It´s one of my favorite bands!

And if you get the unplugged album i´d like to have it
