These shows are really well put together... great collections of songs and the commentary by Bob Dylan is really interesting and informative. Soundbites between records are great too. didn't know about these til I stumbled here, but discovered they're now talked about on wikki too

Erm...no mate it is showing up on the rapidshare link as a 100MB approx file and when I started the download it really was. you have some error happening at your end it would seem. try the other links instead for it...

(Sorry for posting this again, but i figured it might be more help here than the main page)

I noticed that I was getting a file-error from Episode 66 (S02E16).

I downloaded Single MP3 File no Rar!

The MP3 wouldn't play...and Windows failed to give a bit rate, it just threw an error!?

Having just read your post it occurred to me to rename the .MP3 file to .rar

Hey presto!

Problem solved!

So presumably you uploaded a rar file instead of a plain mp3 ?

Hope that sheds some light on the errors!

Many thanks.

This is a very useful site.
I was struggling to find these radio shows but its a bit hit or miss with torrents and limewire.
Rapidshre is a bit of a drag unless you pay for the unlimited downloads, but hey; lets not quibble when this guy is being so generous with his time and resources.
Thanks for the downloads.

The pop-up ads may pay for this site but they are so intrusive that I now go elsewhere.

MK: 'The pop-up ads may pay for this site but they are so intrusive that I now go elsewhere.'
Good. that is exactly the right effect then. Petty morons are not welcome. Let me explain two things. One thing: the ads (maybe some 'pop up' but they are not all or many lie that) do NOt pay for the site. they do not pay for anything. I have the ads account set up so that..after a time...like a year or two or three, I can check the account and maybe find it has reached a 100dollars or so and then I can have a small reward for the effort. It isn't much, it isn't anything really but I think it is worth doing if it is able to accumulate even that small amount without people really having to actually BUY anything, just the numbers of views of it give it some small half cent or something. anyway it is certainly NO profit maker! ha! And the site is FREE so no need to pay for anything here.

the second thing:
If you are pretty good at surfing the internet and I assume you are no imbecile, then you should be now have a system whereby you never see a pop up ad, in fact you NEVER have to see just about ANY kind of ad any more online. the ads are still served to the page but you have many various methods of blocking them so...if you can search around for music files and you place that higher in priorities than the security of your browser and consequently, your PC (If you go to a dodgy site with popups you might not get such harmless ads), then you need to have a rethink.
Browser security is paramount these days. Malware writers are clever. You need to be too.
Go and learn how to get a handle on such things instead of wasting my and everyone else's time stopping by here to tell us what we already know. Yes there are ads.
Thank you.

Well, it doesn't pay to criticise the bloke behind this thing. All you get is a semi (that's being kind) literate and mendacious tirade.

I know full well how to block pop ups, but those associated with this site are beyond reasonable. Noisy, open in new windows. (I use Firefox.) And objectionable. I don't need gambling and porn sites thank you.

It now has "mouseovers". I can live with those and with some commercial intrusion, but there are limits.

Maybe something else is getting in the way, in which case a more coherent and reasoned response would be in order. Not a teenage rant and stream of consciousness piffle.

I reckon this guy is taking the piss. His Bobness would not be amused to be so abused.

2/15/2008 06:58:00 pm
Blogger hitmewithit said...

Hmm. 'Semi literate'?
Thanks for the compliment :-)
You are a contentious prick.
I don't give a hoot what you say mate - the fact is you do NOT know how to block ads...at all. I obviously visit the site regularly and I never get a single popup. All my friends that visit the site regularly..guess what? No popups. In fact in most cases no ads. No mouseovers. No floating ads. No fucking ads dickhead.
This is for ALL SITES I am talking about here, not this site.
'Maybe something else is getting in the way...stream of consciousness piffle...'?
I doubt this is the place to try and prove your abilities as a psuedo intellectual or otherwise but carry on if it makes you feel superior.
Look mate, maybe the fact that I am in fucking agonising pain all day and night might have a SLIGHT effect on my ability to fluently put my point across. Maybe my emotive responses are at the forefront for valid reason,.
Maybe you should just fuck off and leave well alone if you hate it so much.
I don't need any more of you.
Get back to your linux box and masturbate.

Oh and bob has a sense of humour you know. I truly think he would find such a dry, tight asshole as yourself tedious and uninteresting.

You, Sir, are a Gennelman anna Scholar!

Bobtime theme hour is the finest radio show in the history of radio shows, truly. Thank you for posting all this, it makes the world a shinier, happier place.

I had to larf when I read MK's arsehole comments there. Some people are just jerks, to quote the Simpsons. It's reassuring to see them in action so you can rest assured that you're not among them… Perhaps that's why they exist, to make the rest of us feel better…?

Again, many thanks, and may your song always be sung… Or something.

A tip: check out Emory Joseph's "Fennario: Songs By Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter". Larry Campbell features heavily. Good versions make chestnuts relive.
